McCain's Policies Favor Israel

Ron Ben-Yishai, Ynetnews | September 30, 2008

McCain's perception of the Middle East conflict deems Israel a critical ally. ++ McCain accepts the military facet of the conflict, while Obama considers diplomacy the tool to triumph over a minority of Islamic extremists. ++ The root cause of Islamic terrorism is also disputed: McCain believes it is an ideological conflict, and Obama assumes that it is driven by poverty and despair. ++ Obama regards the Israel-Palestinian conflict as key to pacifying the Middle East - and he prefers pressuring Israel to make concessions.

I like this comment! What's this?
To me, the writer of this article seems primarily interested in affirming that the preconceptions of McCain would work to the benefit of Israel, whereas the preconceptions of Obama would prevent him from being of any great benefit to Israel. The analysis gives the reader some insight into the emotional appeals that the author must believe will sway opinion in Israel and that perhaps could promote contributions or other aid to McCain from supporters of Israel in the United States.
