New Climate Change Performance Index Reveals Poor Results
The recent index, published by Germanwatch, shows that even those countries, such as Sweden and Germany, with the highest scores still only have average grades, while seven of the world’s biggest CO2 emitters are on the lowest end of the ranking.
The annual climate change index compares the climate protection performances of 56 industrialized countries and emerging economies.
Experts rated the national climate policies of almost all countries as poor indicating that the international community is still failing to comply with its climate change protection responsibilities.
