" class="external">Why America Should Reconsider Its Alliance Policy
The US should reconsider alliances with countries whose populations are vastly anti-American, suggests Victor Davis Hanson, a senior fellow at the Hoover Institution. Hanson calls for “comprehensive surveys” of American opinions toward current recipients of American aid: the UN, the Middle East, and Western Europe. Given that there is a strong correlation between US involvement abroad and resentment by the receiving country’s population, US citizens should ask themselves whether it is time to shift US assistance to those countries that appreciate it more.
