The Department of POLSIS invited applications for an academics post in POLSIS. We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in International Studies with a focus on US Foreign and Security Policy and experience in the study of International Security. We are inviting applications from individuals with an excellent track-record or outstanding promise commensurate with the appointment level to reinforce one of the largest and strongest Political Sciences and International Studies departments in the UK and beyond in research, teaching and administration. We are looking for colleagues who combine sophistication in theoretical discussions with in-depth empirical research, who will actively engage with colleagues across the department from different theoretical backgrounds and who, in the case of Senior Lectureships, have successful experience in obtaining research grants and running research projects.
You are expected to take up your position by 1 September 2008 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Lecturer - starting salary £34,793 to £41,545 a year (potential progression on performance once in post to £46,759 a year).
Senior Lecturer - starting salary £42,791 to £49,606 a year (potential progression on performance once in post to £52,628 a year).
